PAGADIAN CITY: The Diocese of
Pagadian together with the city government said it is now ready for the
weeklong fiesta celebration in honor of its patron saint the Sr. Santo Nino.
Fiesta Executive Committee (FEC) chairman
Rev. Fr. Rico Sayson, said the celebration aims to give proper worship and warm
thanksgiving to Sr. Sto. Nino for the bountiful blessings the city and the
province received last year.
This year’s feast theme is “Ang
Batang Hesus, Nagpakatawong Kabus, aron Matubos ang mga Kabus.”
Sayson said, this year’s theme is anchored on CBCP
declaration of the year 2015 as the
“Year of the Poor.”
Most Reverend Bishop Emmanuel
Cabajar has recommended that all activities for the celebration must be based
on the said theme.
One of the major highlights of this
year’s celebration is the holding of the re-enactment of “Pangadyian Festival.”
This will be followed by the
community procession from the wharf area to the Sto. Nino Cathedral for the
enthronement of the image of Sr. Sto Nino, Sayson said.
Novena masses and prayers will be
made every afternoon at the Sto. Nino Cathedral with nine big groups of
parishioners and supporters tapped and assigned.
Meanwhile, the city government led
by Mayor Romeo Pulmones said the PNP and other law enforcers is keeping the
safety of the people and for the smooth flow and order of the weeklong
celebration.
